Use this application to find scarecrows hidden in both space and time throughout your local environment. These scarecrows are from the annual scarecrow festival held in the village of Wray in Lancashire in the UK.
The main screen shows the distance to the nearest scarecrow indicated as a green scarecrow icon. When you get within five metres of a scarecrow the icon changes to show a full colour scarecrow and the photo button is activated. Pressing this button will take you to a view which shows image of the real image of this scarecrow along with the name of the builder and when it was built. You can use the button on this screen to capture the whole screen image, so if you are feeling artistic get your friends and family to stand next to the scarecrow. The main screen has a log button through which you can access your images.
This project was initiated as part of the RCUK Digital Economy Theme: Telling Tales Of Engagement about the collaborative research between Lancaster University and the Village of Wray.
